Movement Recreation brings Take Control Movement's mission to life through the body. Rooted in trauma-informed, movement-based methods, our sessions help youth who are adopted, in foster care, or living with developmental disabilities build strength, coordination, and confidence — while learning to regulate emotions and navigate the world with greater independence. We break away from traditional, clinical settings in favor of dynamic, real environments where growth feels like play.

Our services meet youth wherever they thrive best. One-on-one training is tailored to each young person's needs, interests, and goals, blending movement and sensory-informed techniques to build regulation and coordination. Group sessions create a fun, motivating space where teamwork, communication, and social skills develop naturally alongside peers. And community social outings take those skills into the real world — parks, attractions, and local events — where a supportive specialist helps youth manage sensory challenges and build resilience, independence, and joy.

Every session is led by trained, caring staff who understand that confidence is built one experience at a time. Movement Recreation is available through Regional Center social recreation funding and California's Self-Determination Program, and we handle the coordination alongside your service coordinator so families can focus on what matters most. Whether your child is taking their first steps toward a new skill or ready to explore their community, we're here to move with them.
