Our Story

History and Background

Take Control Movement was founded with the belief that every child and young adult, no matter their background, deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, independence, and purpose. Rooted in a passion for serving others, our organization was built to support foster youth, adoptive youth, and individuals with developmental disabilities, many of whom are too often overlooked or underserved.

What began as a vision to provide crucial resources for those with little to no support has grown into a movement dedicated to breaking barriers, creating access to opportunities, and building stronger, more inclusive communities.

Community Impact

Take Control Movement partners with foster homes, schools, community centers, and nonprofits to provide education, training, and resources that empower young people and individuals with developmental disabilities to thrive. Our programs focus on building independence, confidence, and life skills, preparing them not just to participate, but to lead.

With the support of our administrative team and partners, we are expanding into new regions, reaching more families, schools, and underserved communities each year. Every program we launch and every partnership we build brings us closer to a future where independence is possible for all.
